Drain cleaning and clogged drain repair in Dayton & Cincinnati.
One stopped sink or a backed-up main line, we clear both, most of them the same day. Which machine we bring depends on what the camera shows in your pipe, not on what we happen to be carrying.
One slow drain is a clog. Three slow drains at once is your main line. Cleared fast by licensed plumbers, with upfront pricing.

Signs it's more than a slow sink.
Cleared, cleaned, and diagnosed.
Why is my sink draining slowly?
A single slow fixture is almost always local: hair and soap in a bathroom line, grease and food solids in a kitchen line. The blockage usually sits within a few feet of the trap. It clears with a hand auger or a small cable machine and rarely needs anything opened up.
Why are several drains backing up at once?
When two or more fixtures back up together, especially on the lowest floor, the blockage is downstream of both of them in the main line. That is a different problem and a different machine. Running more water into the house makes it worse, so stop using the fixtures and get a camera in the line.
When two fixtures go at once we treat it as a main-line problem and put a camera in before any machine, because clearing blind on a main line is how people pay twice.
The service should match what the pipe is actually doing, which is why a camera goes in before a machine does on any clog that keeps coming back.
Drain symptoms and the service each one calls for.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Service to book |
|---|---|---|
| One bathroom sink drains slowly | Hair and soap buildup near the trap | Drain clearing |
| Kitchen sink backs up after cooking | Grease coating the pipe wall | Hydro jetting |
| Tub fills when the toilet flushes | Main line partially blocked | Camera inspection, then main line clearing |
| Gurgling from drains across the house | Venting or main line restriction | Camera inspection |
| Floor drain overflows in heavy rain | Storm water entering the sanitary line | Sewer line inspection |
| Same drain clogs every few months | Root intrusion, a belly, or a broken pipe | Camera inspection, then sewer repair |
| Sewage odor indoors with no visible backup | Dry trap or a cracked line | Leak detection and camera inspection |
Snaking or hydro jetting: which one do I need?
A cable auger punches a hole through the blockage and gets water moving again. Hydro jetting scours the whole pipe wall with high-pressure water and takes the grease and root hair with it. Snaking is faster and cheaper; jetting lasts far longer on lines that clog repeatedly, which is why maintenance jetting is the answer on a line that backs up every year.
If a drain has clogged more than once in a year, jetting is what we will recommend. Snaking it again only clears a path through the same buildup.
Cable snaking compared with hydro jetting.
| Factor | Cable snaking | Hydro jetting |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Bores an opening through the blockage | Scours the full pipe diameter |
| Best on | A one-off clog in a branch line | Grease, scale and root hair in a main line |
| Pipe condition needed | Works in most pipe, including fragile lines | Pipe must be sound; a camera check comes first |
| How long it holds | Months, if buildup remains | Years in most homes |
| Typical visit length | Under an hour | Longer, and usually camera-verified after |
| When it is the wrong call | Repeat clogs, where it treats the symptom | A collapsed or offset pipe, which needs repair |
A visit without surprises.
Are chemical drain cleaners safe to use?
We do not recommend them. Caustic cleaners sit on top of the blockage, generate heat, and damage older pipe and rubber seals while rarely clearing the actual obstruction. They also make the line dangerous for whoever opens it next. Mechanical clearing costs more and does not eat your plumbing.
How do I stop the same drain clogging every year?
Repeat clogs in the same line mean something structural, not something you did. Roots find clay joints, grease builds on rough cast iron, and a sagging section holds water and solids. A camera pass finds which, and the fix ranges from scheduled maintenance jetting to a sewer repair.
So on any line that has clogged twice, we camera it before recommending anything, working under Ohio plumbing license #13557.
Can you clear my drain today?
Most drain calls get booked and cleared the same day, and a main line backup moves up the list, because water already reaching the floor gets more expensive every hour it sits. Call (844) 584-7399, and if it is already on the floor, shut the main valve first.
